HD-DVD & DVD Combo! Both Standard and HD-DVD versions on one disc! In the 23rd century, the colossal Freeport falls to the Earth, causing the great calamity and rendering the surface unlivable. The survivors evacuate to the moon, the home of the republic of Eden, the last bastion of humanity. In Eden, citizens do not question the all powerful Guidance Council and its rigid controls, for it has provided them with promising careers and lives of peace and tranquility. But when 15 year old Takeru discovers a photograph during a community service outing on the moon surface, he can no longer remain complacent. The photo shows a beaming and beautiful girl standing beside children against the backdrop of vast blue sky, and reads - we are safe. Is anybody out there? - Could this be a message from the Earth? Determined to find the truth about the Earth's fate and vaguely in love, Takeru takes friends Kazuma and Biz to the restricted area of Eden, Just before Eden security can pounce upon them, Takeru and Biz manage to pilot an emergency escape craft which is launched with Kazuma's help. Kazuma is left behind to face the authorities, and Takeru and Biz are catapulted across 380,000 kilometers of vacuum to the shining blue cradle of civilization. But what they find on the Earth's surface is closer to what they learned in their Eden textbooks: It is a barren wasteland, strewn with ruined buildings. But just as they are ready to lose hope, they pick up an unusual signal which announces proudly, I'm your host, Anna Marie, coming to you from sunny Florida! - They ride their tricycle LTV refitted for the Earth surface along Route 66, the voice of the DJ keeping hope alive, in particular, Takeru's hope that he will find the beautiful earth girl in the sunshine state. The lunar duo is at first startled by strange Earth creatures and the harshness of the wild, but as they adjust to their environment, they find beauty in the natural wonders of the Earth, eventually, they have their first exposure to earthlings: A band of hippies packed into a yellow school bus. Join Takeru and Biz as they explore the freedom of Earth in this hybrid visual feast that seamlessly mixes 3D computer graphics and 2D animation.
